Langtang Helambu Trekking
Langtang Helambu trek is easy moderate trekking route in Langtang Himalaya region. Langtang & Helambu is situated north-east of Kathmandu valley border with Tibet, an area inhabited by Tibetans & Tamang who share a similar religion, language and clothing style. The Langtang Helambu valley trekking offers pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow- capped peaks, grassy downs and meadows strewn with daisies and wild primula. In the upper part of the valley there are snow ridges spanning angry torrents, high passes enveloped in mist, tiny lakes of crystalline brightness and glaciated mountain giants. What makes special in Langtang Helambu trek is: its less crowded trail among main trekking destination in the Himalayas. People here are mostly Tamangs (a tribe of people) who are known as backward community, mostly works in the porter jobs for expeditions and trekking. The landscapes we cross are extremely varied: rice-terraces, gigantic rhododendron and firs forests and, in the highest parts, a rock and shrub wilderness with the fascinating backdrop of snowy peaks. The route passes by the sacred lakes of Gosaïkund (4380m), a pilgrimage spot where, during the full moon festival of August, flow hundreds of pilgrims. After Gosaikund we continue across the Laurebina pass towards the Helambu valley and its numerous and picturesque Sherpa villages. It is advisable to plan an extra day, which can be spent in Melamchi Gaon, a Sherpa village, which is sure to charm you. Langtang Helambu Trekking Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in kathmandu 1334m, Himalaya Journey Treks & Expedition’s representative will transfer to hotel , Langtang Helambu trekking briefing with officially arrangements. overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 02: Drive to Syabru Bensi (1450m)
Day 03: Sybru bensi trek to Lama Hotel (2480m)
Day 04: Lama hotel trek to Langtang (3541m)
Day 05: Langtang trek to Kyanjing Gompa (3900m)
Day 06: Acclimatization and explore day. During this day you can hike up to Kyanjin ri or Tseku ri for superb Himalayan scenery of Langtang lirung 7245m, Ganesh Himal 7406m, Naya khanga 5846m , Dorje lakpa 6988m, Gauri shanker 7145m, Gangchenpo 6387 m, yala paek 5500m or hike to Langtang Lirung base camp. overnight at Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 07: Kyanjin Gompa trek to Lama Hotel (2480m)
Day 08: Lama hotel trek to Shybru village 2200m)
Day 09: Shybru village trek to Singh Gompa (3584m)
Day 10: Singh Gompa trek to Gosainkund lake (4381m)
Day 11: Explore around holy Gosainkund lake (4381m)
Day 12: Gosainkund Lake via Gosainkund pass 4610m trek to t Ghopte (3440m)
Day 13: Ghopte trek to Melamchi Gaon (2530m.)
Day 14: Melamchi Gaon trek to Tarkeghyang (2743m.)
Day 15: Tarkeghyang trek to Shermathang (2590m.)
Day 16: Shermathang trek to Melamchi Pul Bazaar (870m.)
Day 17: Melamchi Pul Bazaar to Kathmandu (1320m.)
Day 18: After breakfast , our tour guide will take to historical monument sightseeing in around kathmandu valley such as Bhaktapur, Pasupatinath, Boudhanath, Kathmandu dubar square , Monkey temple etc and in the evening farewell dinner in Nepalese restaurant. Overnight at kathmandu.
Day 19: After breakfast, Relaxing/shopping with own activities ,Himalaya Journey Treks & Expedition’s representative will drop to Kathmandu international airport for onward destination.
