Langtang Ganja La Pass Trekking

                        Langtang ganja la pass trek is one of challenging trekking trail in Langtang region.The Ganja La pass situated at 5160m is one of the most challenging passes trek in Langtang Himalaya range which cover Langtang trek takes you over this pass as you make your way south from Langtang village, which lies at 3500m & is the headquarter for Langtang National Park. The route from Gyang in Helambu, requires crossing the 5120 m Ganja La. The pass is often blocked by snow, so inquiries about local condition, good equipment & mountaineering experience are necessary for a safe crossing.

                        Langtang ganja la pass  trek starts from Syabru Bensi, ends at Melamchi Pul Bazar. From Syabru Bensi, you will follow the Langtang River to the east until you get to Kyanjing Gompa (3,049m.). In Kyanjing Gompa there is a small Buddhist monastery and a cheese factory started in 1955 by the Swiss Association for Technical Assistance. When you are crossing the pass there are spectacular views of Langtang Lirung and the Tibetan peaks beyond. Much of this route is spent above 3,000m.The highest point of this trek is Ganjala Pass (5,122m). On the very pass of Ganjala, the last few 100m trails are precarious so we use a rope there for safety, though the utmost care is enough. The descent from the pass is on a steep slope for over 1 km, which requires good care again. As there are no lodges and no settlements for three days along the way, the group should be well equipped with enough food.. The use of firewood is also prohibited within the park, so all supplies should be taken with us.After passing the Ganjala Pass, the trail takes you to Malamchi Gaun and Tarke Ghyang. People here call themselves Sherpas but their relationship with the Sherpa of Solu Khumbu is distant.  Tarkeghyang is another Sherpa town along the way, which bears its own story.The Helambu villages exude a Tibetan feel & you will see fields enclosed by stone walls as well as herds of yaks, the most important animal for the people here. From Tarke Gyang, we descend to Melamchi Pul bazzar where we drive back to Kathmandu.
